A renaissance spirit at heart, Donaldo was strongly influenced by Raphael, whose poetic sense of harmony is a constant inspiration and most evident in his soft atmospheric style. While primarily self-taught, he credits his long ago portraiture studies with Gerald Scott at the Artist’s Workshop in Toronto, for opening his mind to understanding what it is to “see” with the eyes of an artist.
